Standard manicures typically begin with cleaning and soaking the hand or fingers in lotion-infused water or other moisturizer to soften the skin and nails. Technicians then cut and shape the nail, push back the cuticles and buff the nail to even out its surface.
Technicians then add polish if you have requested it. Shops should provide polish in a variety of colors, but you may bring your own. Some technicians also offer a brief hand massage. For deluxe service, technicians often exfoliate the hands with a light sugar or salt scrub then soak them in aromatic oils or lotions. Some technicians dip the hands in paraffin wax for 10 minutes or more to add an extra layer of softness.
During standard pedicures, customers typically sit in large chairs with their feet in a small whirlpool-like tub to clean and soak the feet in warm water to soften the skin and nail beds. Some salons feature automatic massage chairs that give customers a neck or back rub, and some technicians provide a short foot massage.
Technicians then clip and shape the nail and typically use a pumice stone to remove dry skin or calluses. They buff the nail to even out the surface before adding polish, if you have requested it. Shops should provide polish in a variety of colors, but you may bring your own.
During deluxe services, technicians usually exfoliate the feet with an aromatic sugar or salt scrub, concentrating on removing dry skin from the heel and balls of the feet. Then they often soak the feet in a light oil, lotion or paraffin wax to make the skin extra soft. Many therapists also include a brief foot massages.
For acrylics, you get to select the shape, length and color. Technicians begin with many of the same preparation services, including cleaning and soaking the fingers or entire hands. Then they apply an adhesive before attaching an acrylic nail to the nail bed. Technicians sand down and shape the nail then add polish and accessories, if you have requested them.

They did a amazing job. Very professional with the nails. It is the price though. I was told with french white tip it is $40 she said to get pink to instead of clear and charged another $10. So I ended up paying $50 for acrylic pink and white.
Myself and boyfriend went for pedicures I got normal pedicure $28 plus $17 for gel polish. He got pedicure for $35 with whatever add one they offered? Ok whatever we’ll I came in with a picture of a French nail I wanted the women talked me out of that and showed me her “signature marbled nail” which she couldn’t do either I asked for almond shape got egg shaped short and fat hideous told her throughout it was worrisome! Well when the bill came they were charging $85 for the nails!!!! What!? I’ve been getting pink and white for yearssssss at $45 I had them remove them so I could go elsewhere and get them done I was so embarrassed to even have to do that but they were horrible and very expensive I still left the $30 tip but NEVER will return
Ripped off and lied too. Never even cleaned or trimmed cuticles or pushed back even! Rushed thru t ok take next walkin even tho I made an appt! Paint job is chunky and they talk about u as if we don't understand. Luckily I was smart and decided to put Google voice translator on my phone. Apparently they were talking about my eyebrows and how hairy they were. The translator also picked up the words ugly feet and pig toes at one point. Not everyone is born beautiful. Some of us have to put effort and that's why I went to the salon. Now I don't even want to wear sandals knowing I have pig feet. I didn't think people cared about these things in 2021. I should just stay home and not leave my house because I don't want to offend anyone.
I absolutely love this shop because everyone is so talented. I asked for a gel manicure expecting maybe $25 or so, but the total was $40. All she did was clean my nails and paint gel 😭 the quality was great yes, but I'm surprised to hear acrylics are usually more expensive omg
I see everybody is tripping about cost. I got mine done no extra just my nails done. No message or mani or message. I got coffin nails all black matte besides both middle and thumb nails polished for $47 if i got a mani it would have been almost a $100 for EVERYTHING. Yall tripping hard asf I would pay the $50 for mani and EVERYTHING ELSE. thats CHEAP. Yall probably broke and being desperate.. Indiana is charging for each thing separate.. STOP CRYING AND MAKING IT A BIG DEAL!!!!
Excessively over charged for acrylic set w/ gel, 2 custom LV designs, 2 LV water decals, the remaining nails done with LV stickers and diamond sparkle gems. Their price chart says $50 for acrylic set w/gel. Secondly, I got a regular pedicure that comes with little extras and polish. Their chart says $30 for this package. I chose a the same gel polish as well as the same custom LV designs that I had on my nails to be placed on my big toes w/sparkly type diamond gems.According to the price chart, their cluster lashes are $35 for a set, which ended up adding that to my ticket. When I got the register to pay the charged me $230. Here’s the breakdown Gel polish $25, Full diamonds 2 nails $35, Half diamonds 2 nail $20, Long nail $5, Nail shape $5, Classic sos pedicure $30, Gel fullest (no shape) $50, Design in 2 nails $30, Cluster lashes $30. I will be going g back to this and getting my money back. In addition to filing a complaint w/state attorney general office and filing a civil suit.
I went in to a shop to have my acrylic nails polished only because I sculpted them myself. The woman who polished them did a very nice job and was quick to polish them. When it was time to pay she said it was $20. I feel I was ripped off just to have my nails polished only...
I asked the nail technician how much for a full set. He said he will let me know as soon as he gets the nails on my fingers (WTH?) ... anyway on the board the price said $28 and up.... He wind up charging me $46 for the medium length nails. It was extra because I got gel nail polish and A couple of tiny rhinestones on each hand which came up to $6 because it was $3 each (They are so tiny you can’t even see them on the Cuticle edge) Anyway they didn’t even bother to tell me to wash my hands or even oil my cuticles when they were done. And the entire time they spoke to each other in their language and just pretended like I didn’t even exist. They didn’t even offer me to look at any other designs for my nails they didn’t even have samples or magazines. I feel obligated to tip them $7 ...But trust me my nails look like crap
I got coffin nails. They were wayyyyy longer than expected and they said that a full set was $20 but since mine were long, I had to pay $30. I definitely didn't want to. They did a horrible job painting them. I was very upset.
Great leg massage, hot towels, hot rocks and oil massage, with yummy scented orange scrub and products. Very relaxing, plus toenails trimmed, cuticles and polish. A little more than a hour; Totally worth it!
Spa or Shop:: Barbara Ann\'s Art Emporium & nail salon
Pedicure included: soak, file, buff, cuticle care, callous care, lotion, and polish Gel manicure was done as a french.....and it didnt cost anymore than a regular gel polish!
So 3 Of my daughters came with me tho the nail salon and 2 Of us got a fill an a pedicure an 1 got a full set an a pedicure my other just got her nails painted I walked out of their paying $250 dollars WTF
I wanted short nails, pretty, but stronger than mine. I had no clue what I was getting into. I thought maybe $40??? Too expensive! Too long! And all different lengths :-(
Didn't even want a full pedicure. I simply wanted the nail polish changed & the toe nails cut down a bit & filed. I was charged $25??? I could have had a full pedicure for that amount at other shops. Needless to say, I'm not happy! 😠😡
I LIVE IN A CITY THATHAS LOT'S OF SALONS VERY PRICEY,AND HAVE TRIED THESE OTHER SALONS AND THEY DON'T DO ANY BETTER WORK JUST CHARGE MORE BECAUSE BIGGER SPACE. LOVE EXCELLANT NAILS IS SMALLER & OWNERS MORE PERSONABLE. IUSUALLY TIP $5.00 HOPE THIS IS ENOUGH. BLING
Excellent service very detail oriented. Great massage. She rents a station is super clean. Wears gloves for all services and disinfects her implements and uses new files and buffer blocks in every clients. Never reuses files on other people. All that cost money.
There seems to be a nail salonspa every 2 feet and then add in all the hairs salonsspas offering nail services. $15-20 is the going rate on manis $25+UPon pedis(then you have your spa pedicures and such)and as far as acrylic nails go it seems only full nail salons are doing those!I concentrate on the natural nail & have converted people from acrylics.as far as more for the french, it is not for 2 different colors, it's more work ,think of it as nail art
My fills cost. 15.00 . But I like gel polish that cost 10.00 more, plus tip. Pedicure is 20.00, plus 10.00 more for the gel polish, but it last for at least 3 months on my toes.
